The Music of Brotherly Love: Gold Can Turn to Sand

Every week, we feature one song that fits the Elric brothers in some way. That way, everyone can be encouraged and heartened by the staggering devotion we've all come to love so much! It's unusual to find a good character song from a musical, since it's usually specific to the story of the musical. And while not all of the words in this song fit the Elric brothers, I think the sentiment works very well, and a lot of it is very reminiscent of the Elrics' journey. Especially how they're searching for the Philosopher's Stone, which traditionally is sought to make gold, but it turns to sand in their hands once they discover what it's made from. This song could be either of the brothers talking about the other.
